Ok, so I have been spending plenty of time lately working on newsletters and such for Noalmark Broadcasting. The bossman has decided to commit to sending out newsletters regularly, so I have had to really “study up” on the subject. I am really interested in what other people do with their newsletters and I think you might be, too. Campaign Monitor, the service I am using to send our newsletter, just released their newsletter. This month they are featuring a nice gallery of newsletters, so if you feel curious, then check it out. Since we are on the subject, I would also say that if you are looking for a cool book that can help you with your newsletters, check out sitepoint’s “Creating Stunning HTML Email That Just Works!” Give Campaign Monitor a try if you are faced with an email newsletter project. Our experience with them has been top-notch. I built a newsletter template using their system and they looked it over for me and gave me a few pointers. Their crew is friendly and I even got to chat with Mathew Patterson, the author of sitepoint’s book I mentioned, and one of the people behind Campaign Monitor.
So, today I sent my first e-newsletter for my current employer. I found the experience to be very frustratingly enlightening. I was asked to prepare the wonderful newsletter and it occurred to me that I have never done an html email newsletter before. I knew I needed some help so I turned to my awesome friends at sitepoint. It seems like whenever I need something sitepoint has just released a new book on it. I discovered through the book, and a bit of trial and error, that I would have to return my development skills to the stoneage to successfully layout a good html email. It’s sad to realize that so many email clients are still so far in the past. If I ever get into programming software instead of web pages I will totally build a better email client.
p.s. Not gonna be a software programmer anytime soon.
So I have been unable to really work on my portfolio of late due to the fact that I have acquired a nice job that demands much of my time. Do not fret my friends I am working on actually getting my content ready to publish. My blog will begin following my life as a developer and allow me to wax eloquent on all things Cool and Official. Thanks for all the warm words of support and the spam.
Hello and welcome to my portfolio/blog. If you are here you have come to soon. This is a work in progress and I will be working to finish this portfolio as I work towards my degree in web design and development at SAU Tech. If you want to hang around and watch my progress thats fine. I don’t see a need to hide my site from you as it is built. My friends and family like to watch as I build things so you can too.

Well it appears that my deal with Stars Entertainment LLC has fallen through. I still really like the design and i might shop the template around to some other local theaters. For now though its just another project that wasn’t meant to ever complete.
